About Jody McBrien

Jody is the founder of Green Unicorn Writing Services. She has had a distinguished career as an academic, publishing over 60 journal articles, books, and reports in the fields of education and global migration. She has also had a Fulbright Award and a Council on Foreign Relations Fellowship, among other awards. Jody has had a varied career, also working as an editor in Boston, communications manager on Long Island, and special projects manager at CNN in Atlanta. She has traveled to over 50 countries and lived in Ireland, New Zealand, Japan, and France. When not writing, Jody loves to ballroom dance, swim, walk, and snuggle with her cat, Gandalf.

Jody has two beloved, creative adult children. When her daughter was eight, she painted the unicorn (at right) that Jody thinks is as good as any Picasso :). It has hung on Jody's wall for 30 years and always reminded her of the power of creativity and joy.

Her son has an amazing proclivity for befriending marine mammals, particularly dolphins.

These family bonds keep her ever-aware of the importance of innovation and care within the workplace.
